A Sad Loss

Hello, everyone. I am sorry not to have updated my blog for a while. There was some sad news from the Wood family. My great-Nana, Alison Wood, passed away. While I did not know her for a long time, she made such a wonderful impression on me and I'm sure Mommy and Daddy will tell stories about her for years to come. We were up in Oswego, New York, for about a week. Although it wasn't for a happy occasion, it was nice to see the Woods, especially those from the West Coast who I hadn't met before.

Here is a picture of Mommy, Aunt Lindsay, and me on the shore of Lake Ontario. This is a fun little restaurant where we ate dinner the first night we were there.

Here we are! Grandpa, Aunt Lindsay, Aunt Sarah, Zoe, Uncle Rob, Great-Grandpa, Daddy, Uncle Douglas, Aunt Cathy, me, and Neany. I had a really good time playing with a paper plate.

Mommy and me. That's ketchup all over my face.
Aunt Lindsay and my cousin Zoe. Aunt Lindsay had so much fun taking care of us.
I really entertained my family members during this difficult week. I did my best to make them smile. My great-Nana also loved to make people smile. We're really going to miss her.
Daddy had a great time watching Zoe and me. In this picture, he is pretending to be a jungle gym. Zoe loved getting airplane rides from Daddy. I kind of got jealous sometimes.
Here's me and my new best friend Zoe. We played tea party together, ate snacks together, and just had a great time getting to know each other. I have a feeling that we'll be inseparable in a few years!
Having fun with Aunt Lindsay!

Thanks for reading my update. I love you all!
Love, Morgan

I Can Crawl!!!

Hello Everybody. It's been a busy stretch since I last checked in and the big news is that I am now mobile. It has been very exciting to explore the living room and find out what is behind every corner. Mommy and Daddy had to do some quick rearranging of furniture because I was on the move.

Here I am sitting in my toy wagon. Daddy thought it would be funny to put me in it and roll me around the living room. I am growing so fast that I barely fit in it and I probably am too big to fit in it today.

In addition to crawling I can also pull myself up and lean on things. Here I am proud of myself after pulling myself up on a chair. Now how do I get down? It's a good thing my diapers are a little padded.

This morning I put Elmo in the wagon and we played for a while with Daddy while Mommy ran out to run a few errands. Coaley is sleeping int he background and he is a little unsure of things now that I am so mobile.

It wouldn't be fair to talk all about me crawling without showing you. Here's a video of Mommy and Daddy bribing me with some treats to crawl across the room. Speaking of treats, I have added a bunch of new foods to my diet that I can chew. I eat rice puffs, yogurt melts, veggie crunchies and cheerios. And I do it all still without teeth.

Anyway, that is all for today. I promise my next update will come sooner. Love you.

P-rade '09

Hello, everyone! Guess what? I am so close to crawling and my first tooth is on its way! I can lift myself almost totally off the ground and when I really work hard, I can reach whatever you put in front of me!

Saturday was the big reunion P-rade at Princeton. Mommy, Daddy, Neany, and I met up with Great-Grandaddy, Great Uncle Kirk and Marilyn, and Great Uncle Jamie and Sheila at the parade. Look at us in our orange and black! Neany bought me an awesome new outfit from the Princeton bookstore. My favorite part was the little orange hot pants. I also wore some sweet jelly sandals from Granny Franny.

Here is a picture of me with Marilyn. She held me in the tent before the parade. I did a really good job chomping on a plastic cup and a paper plate.

While lots of Princeton students and alums were drinking cold canned adult beverages, I was enjoying a nice tall bottle of milk.

There were so many shades of orange to look at during the parade. I loved listening to the different bands!

After such an exhausting day in town, I was so happy to get home and get back to work practicing the art of crawling. I just can't get enough of my favorite beach ball. I try to chase it all over the living room rug. It is such a funny ball.

I have my own pair of sunglasses, but wearing Elvis glasses is so much more fun!

Thanks for checking in with me! Poor Daddy - he was working in the garden this weekend and got poison ivy all over his arms and face! He saw the doctor today though and is hopefully on the mend! Mommy has only two weeks left of the school year...it has gone by so fast! Lots of love to everyone!
